A fully EU-funded postdoctoral position is available in Martin Pospisek's laboratory at Charles University, Prague, Czech Republic. We are looking for a motivated molecular biologist/biochemist/cell biologist to study the role of non-canonical translation initiation factors in cancer and development. We offer an enthusiastic team and well-equipped laboratories with access to first-class service facilities at the Faculty of Science, Charles University, Prague and Biocev (https://www.biocev.eu/en/services). We cooperate closely with the Genomics Core Facility at EMBL, Heidelberg, and for high-demand programming and computing with the Department of Computer Science at the Czech Technical University in Prague. The laboratory is part of the newly formed RNA for Therapy Consortium and a founding member of the National Institute of Virology and Bacteriology (https://nivb.cz).
The Laboratory of RNA Biochemistry is located in the city center, near the University Botanical Garden (50°04'18.1"N 14°25'26.0"E).
Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and possess strong oral and written communication skills. Candidates should also have significant training in molecular biology, biochemistry or structural biology as evidenced by publications. Early and advanced career scientists, as well as students nearing graduation, are encouraged to apply. Start date is flexible.
