Project summary

The project will be focused on complex evaluation of a seasonal dynamics of physiological status (characterised by content and ratios of photosynthetic pigments) and function of vegetation in ecosystems with different species heterogeneity of plant communities utilizing phenological course of vegetation parameters derived from remote sensing data with different spatial, spectral and temporal resolutions. Selected vegetation parameters obtained in a field and/or by laboratory analyses (foliage optical properties, biochemical and structural parameters – contents of chlorophyll a+b, carotenoids and water, LAI, SLA) will be used for training and validation of models derived from remote sensing data. The project aims:

  • Modelling of biochemical and structural parameters of vegetation
  • Species classification in heterogeneous ecosystems (mixed floodplain forest and relict tundra) based on spectral data
  • Analyses of information value of resolution in SPACE, SPECTRA and TIME with the use of various remote sensing data including hyperspectral data acquired with UAV
