An increasing accuracy of advanced constitutive models allows to capture distinctively nonlinear behaviour of soil. Nonetheless, the use of such constitutive model remains limited to projects of the highest priority or research studies.
The research will by focused on two main issues. First, to develop calibration method for the Hardening Soil Model and its subsequent implementation to the calibration software called ExCalibre, which is currently available at https://soilmodels.com/excalibre/. Second, to find a correlations between models parameters and soil characteristics such as Atterberg’s limits or gradation characteristics. The correlation will be sough for three constitutive models, namely hypoplastic clay model, hypoplastic sand model and Modified Cam-Clay model. The data for the correlation study was gathered by the application ExCalibre during the last three years, since its official lunch. The database currently contains over 1000 laboratory protocols from around the world.
